in-school programs

Our in-school programs provide one on one and group mentoring for youth in the Brunswick and Freeport school systems from kindergarten to the seventh grade

Over the school year, mentors spend time building meaningful relationships with students, the goal being to create a safe and judgment-free space for students to be heard and seen

Benefits of school-based mentoring
-
Builds Trust
The reliable routine of in-school mentorship allows students to build trustworthy and honest relationships with adults who support and empower their aspirations and passions.
-
Helps with Social Behaviors
Mentoring is known to improve a student’s self-confidence and self-worth, helping them with communication, dealing with emotions, and having healthier interactions with their peers, teachers, and families.
-
Experiencing Different Perspectives
Mentoring gives both the mentor and mentee the opportunity to see things beyond their own experience, to see a bigger or a different picture.
