Unlocking Potential Through Mentorship
We guide young people onto pathways of self-reliance, leadership, and purpose. We ensure that every youth has the support to thrive as an active member of our community.
Our Approach
At Seeds of Independence, we meet young people right where they are. Serving the Greater Midcoast Maine region, our programs provide local adolescents with dedicated guidance during the most crucial turning points of their lives.
We don't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. By combining one-on-one adult mentorship, practical life-skills education, and strong school-community partnerships, we empower youth to navigate challenges, build resilience, and step into independent futures.
Our Initiatives
Community-Based Mentoring
Connecting local adolescents with trusted adult mentors for regular, one-on-one activities, conversation, and real-world skill development. Mentors serve as a steady anchor, helping youth realize their unique worth and strengths.
School & Brunswick Landing Workshops
Facilitated at our Brunswick Landing facility and within local schools in Brunswick and Freeport, these interactive programs focus on peer support, character development, and academic encouragement.
Community & Family Partnerships
We collaborate closely with local educators, other non-profit organizations, as well as families, to create a safe, seamless network of support around every participant.
